This is by far one of the easiest and most delicious Brownie recipes known to man. Follow the simple steps below to achieve Baking God/ess status on your way to FoodPorn heaven.
I got the recipe from ‘Tasty’ and tweaked it to my liking – you can watch their video here.
Ingredients
Servings: 9
Ingredients
8 ounces chocolate (or roughly 225g) – I use 1/4 dark chocolate and 3/4 milk chocolate
¾ cup butter, melted (I guessed this was about 180g and it turned out fine…)
1¼ cups sugar (granulated sugar is fine)
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
¾ cup plain flour
¼ cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
Method
Step 1
Pre-heat the oven to 350°F/180°C.
Reach your chocolate out and stare at it lovingly… eat any extra.
Step 2
Chop chop chop your chocolate. Try and get a mixture of big chunks and little chunks.
Step 3
Melt half of your chocolate and save half.
I melted mine in a microwave on a low heat for bursts of 30 seconds because I couldn’t find a glass bowl…
Try not to eat any, but you’re allowed to lick the spoon.
Step 4
Whisk/mix the melted butter and sugar together.
It will look like it’s never going to work as it’s so runny and you will panic. Don’t.
Step 5
Keep whisking. Add the vanilla.
Step 6
Keeeeeep whisking. Add the eggs. Whisk until you think your arm is going to drop off, then whisk a bit more.
Step 7
…after 1-2 minutes the mixture should become nice and fluffy and will look much lighter than before (I told you not to panic...)
Whisk in the melted chocolate – make sure it’s not too hot or the eggs will start to cook(!)
Step 8
Et voilà – it should look something like this.
Step 9
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and salt.
Try not to get flour all over the kitchen worktop/floor/yourself like I did.
Step 10
Fold the dry ingredients in. Do not stir them or whisk – gently does it! This will keep the brownies nice and light.
Step 11
Fold in the chocolate chunks. Take a moment to appreciate how beautiful it is.
Step 12
Pour the godly mixture into a baking tin/dish lined with baking paper (yay less washing up).
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or if your oven isn’t great like ours then until they stop wobbling on the top!
They firm up a little as they cool so keep that in mind.
Step 13
LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL THEY ARE. EAT EAT EAT.
Try not to eat them all in one sitting.
Or do, I’m not here to judge :).
